Still glowing from our Arts Fest performance!

In the last few months we quietly closed shop on our monthly workshop. For the last few years a bunch of us would get together once a month to share our poems and give/receive feedback. I got a chance to watch so many writers grow and grow alongside them. I can't do the pleasure of the experience justice in an IG post BUT I will say it did feel like a very fitting cap end to that experience to share a stage with these 5. What a singular honor to watch the way they've all grown into their own as artists, and to cheer them on. Glad I got to share some poems on their stage, a craft that has been honed by their feedback and care.

So thanks to Greater Columbus Arts Council for giving these great artists a stage a chance to celebrate!

The Arts Fest is right around the corner which means so is another hour of killer poems from Village Poetry!

We've got the Cultural Arts Center Stage from noon to 1 next Sunday! I'm delighted to be sharing a stage with these poets who I have been able to grow alongside over the years. See you next Sunday! 💖💖💖

Village Poetry regular and poetic luminary Aerin Higginbotham will be putting on her emcee boots this Thursday and will be shepherding us all through a night of poetic community.

And even more good news, it's Pride Month! We love and appreciate our q***r community all year long, but hope to see the gayest poems you got in celebration 🎊🎉🎊

Your favorite montly open mic is making it's grand return next Thursday May 7th with a fun surprise!

Come early to put your name on the list, and stay for our featured writers! Leah Cashin, Antonia Baylor, Henry Bailey, and Rebecca Hurtado who have been honing their craft in the creative writing program at Denison will be sharing their work with us! Excited to see what they're bringing.

The Village Poetry Open Mic is always free, but if you can we are asking for a donation of $5-$10, 100% of which will go to our featured readers.
