Who is the Ohio Back Expo?
Ohio Black Expo is a statewide non-profit organization committed to enhancing the lives, success, and well-being of communities in Ohio. We drive change and foster growth through initiatives that address critical disparities in areas such as economic development, health, education, senior support, business, technology, and youth development.

Our signature event, the Ohio Black Expo: Riverfront Culture Fest, takes place every Memorial Day Weekend to empower and unite Ohio’s 1.7 million Black residents and those beyond. This annual gathering welcomes thousands of guests from across the state, the nation, and the globe to engage in solution-focused workshops, build connections at networking events, and celebrate the richness of Black culture. With amazing food, the arts, and an unforgettable atmosphere, there’s no other place to be Memorial Day Weekend!

We're happy to announce the Emcee for the 10th Annual Live Love Laugh Brunch! This year's emcee is the amazing Teresa Childress Western.

Teresa Childress Western is a passionate speaker and community leader committed to helping others grow through faith, resilience and purpose driven leadership. With a heart for service and transformation, she delivers a message of hope, compassion and personal growth- empowering individuals to move forward with strength, clarity and confidence. An active member of International Christian Center, multi-racial and multi-generational church in Columbus, Ohio were she currently serves in varies compacities.

She has the opportunity to emcee and empower individuals at schools, youth conferences, women’s conferences, businesses, nursing homes, and churches in varies cities and states.
Teresa has served on the board of Visions and Dreams Ministry. She has been licensed in the State of Ohio to do Chemical Dependency Counseling and certified through Breakthrough Reconciliation Ministries to do Biblical Counseling. Teresa is employed full time at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.

Teresa lives in Columbus, Ohio .

The Live Love Laugh Brunch is excited to announce that the Ohio Sickle Cell and Health Association (OSCHA) is returning as our 2026 fiscal sponsor!

OSCHA is a trusted nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease and other chronic health conditions. Through education, advocacy, screening programs, community outreach, and supportive services, they work tirelessly to promote awareness, early detection, and healthier communities across Ohio.

HISTORY
Organized in 1960, founded in 1972, and incorporated in 1977, the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America / Ohio Sickle Cell and Health Association (OSCHA) was established from the need to provide a funding mechanism for adults with sickle cell disease who were medically indigent; with the focus, and intent to solve sickle cell disease, in the context of broader, societal issues, facing Ohio’s children, minorities and poor.

MISSION
To provide education, advocacy, and support to persons and families affected and at-risk for sickle cell disease through effective approaches to sickle cell services

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
- To have a stake in and be concerned about health problems as they relate to the underserved population in Ohio
- To serve as coordinating body for sickle cell trait, sickle cell disease, hemoglobinopathies, and other health activities across the state of Ohio
- To serve as a resource base for sickle cell programs and health organizations
- To develop support for affected individuals and families
- To educate and inform the professional and lay communities about the sickle cell phenomena and other health issues

We’re honored to partner once again with an organization that truly embodies compassion, service, and impact. Together, we’re committed to celebrating love while uplifting health and wellness in our community.
