Cosplay is so much more than putting on a costume. It’s the months spent crafting every tiny detail, the excitement when someone recognizes your character, the friendships formed while waiting for a photo, and that incredible feeling of walking into GalaxyCon and realizing you’re surrounded by people who love the same things you do. ❤️

Over the years, we’ve watched characters step off the screen and into our convention halls, seen first-time cosplayers find their confidence, and witnessed countless friendships and memories begin with a simple, “Can I get a picture with you?” 📸✨

To every cosplayer who has shared their creativity, passion, and a little bit of magic with us over the years, thank you for making GalaxyCon brighter, more colorful, and uniquely YOU. 🫶

Happy International Cosplay Day to one of the biggest reasons GalaxyCon feels like home.

It is with profound sadness we say goodbye to our dear friend Tim Curry whose extraordinary talent, unmistakable voice, and larger-than-life presence made him one of the most unforgettable performers of his generation.

We had the honor of welcoming Tim to our GalaxyCon Raleigh event in 2019 and he was a frequent guest during our virtual chats where he lit up at the chance to talk with his fans.

With his cheeky grin and devilish laugh, Tim's remarkable career spanned the stage, film, television, music, animation, and voice acting, breathing life to characters such as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Pennywise, Long John Silver, and countless others. Curry leaves behind an extraordinary body of work that has entertained, frightened, inspired, and delighted generations of fans, actors, singers, and writers.

Our hearts are with his friends, family, and fans and we honor his memory as a kind and hilarious soul. Rest in peace, sir, we cannot thank you enough for the hours of joy you have brought to our lives.
