I remember the exact way my teacher looked at me and told me that I was a good artist. I felt so noticed and excited and I really believed in my heart that I was amazing because she said so. That was in first grade. The same year, I drew the first picture you see.
Mrs. Jefferis gave me a vision for my potential. I have since improved a bit.
The second picture is my most recent creation, a charcoal drawing I did of a friend’s wife.

I share this to say:
1. Words of encouragement matter - you could say something that sticks with someone for years or even a lifetime.
2. I love creating and getting to see a finished product and I am excited to continue growing.

Indiah
11.20.2005-7.11.2020

I never knew Indiah personally, but over the past couple weeks as I was drawing this I would hold back tears thinking about how loved she was. As I was drawing, young people who knew her would see and immediately start sharing memories or things they loved about Indiah. I can’t help but think about the incredible impact she has made in the lives of all the people who knew her. It was an honor to get to work on this piece.

I really enjoy signing on for projects and getting to help you bring joy to your loved ones.
But one of my favorite things to do is put my head down and just start creating and see where it leads!
