Haven't posted in awhile! Fishing has been consistent and great! The cool mornings in the 40s have kept the fish in 10 to 12ft on breaks and w**d edges. Quarter ounce ned rig and half a crawler has been the deal in the late morning and afternoon. Early mornings minnows are still better. Fished Saturday in Northern WI. Water temps around 53°. All fish came on the jerkbait except for one walleye on a half a crawler. Fishing new w**ds in 10ft or less, some on sand flats some were on points with openings in them. Super fun way to catch quality eyes! The pike was close to 40",(bump board only goes to 32") and that was on the jerkbait too. My personal best for a pike! Video coming this week explaining the technique. Wisconsin opener is in the books! Had to be one of the best opening weekends for me in some time. These are just SOME of the walleyes. Got many small pike and a mid 40s musky that will probably make the video. Once I found an active school it was literally every cast! Water temps around 50. Wind definitely help. Don't hide from the wind. Think shallow. All fish were 8ft or less! When they get picky, go lighter on the jigs and line. There will be a video! I think this fish deserves it's own post. My biggest fish of opening weekend in Wisconsin was 27.5" This fish was still dropping eggs! Super important to release the big females. I was fishing a w**d edge in 7ft, casting into the w**ds and reeling back keeping the jig above the w**ds. At first I thought I had on another small pike, but quickly realized it wasn't! Early ice is HERE! Was finally able to get to a spot near some trees that hold fish early yesterday. Took the flip over shack along, as the temps were a bit chilly. Fished a few hours up north, was surprised by the nice perch we found(released). Water temp was 45 and dropping. Most fish were on trees in 14ft, with the exception of the wife's 17" walleye coming in 19ft. Good time to get out, if you can brave the 🥶. Amped Outdoors LLC KADE Outdoors llc
