Make sure you're prepared and set up to have the best time this Thursday by getting familiar with our general information for the event 🙏👇

🚫🍻Alcohol and substance free
📵Phone free space. Keep the phones away from the dance floor. Paying vendors with your phone is an exception. Photographers and videographers will be at the event and special wristbands will be provided if you don't to be in any of the pictures or videos.
🚫👟 No shoes on the dance floor unless you have a medical condition. There will be multiple locations to store shoes
🎟Day of show = $60. Card, exact cash and Venmo are all acceptable forms of payment
☕Vendors and services will be available for an additional cost (main room and side room)
🚫🍪🍵 No food on the dance floor. No food or drinks in the Cozy Cove

🔊Earplugs provided
💧It’s going to be warm. be prepared to get a little sweaty. bring a towel if you sweat a lot

🌟9.3 Artist Spotlight: Galen Deery 🎸

🎵Galen grew up in an artistic household with mom singing Joni Mitchel lullabies on the record player. His father would play classical piano live with sheet music a couple nights a week with galen on his lap. And at the same time, they kept a solid rotation of The Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against the Machine, and Pearl Jam on the stereo. His grandparents influenced and inspired him the most when they showed him the 1969 Woodstock movie on the VHS player TV. When Galen saw Keith Moon play drums, it was the beginning of a long road to getting on stage.

🥁Galen started as a drummer at age 7 sparking an early sense of rhythm which set the stage for his songwriting journey at age 13. Galen performed on stage for all the school talent shows, the school Jazz Band, and joined the School of Rock program in his hometown. This was where he was connected with friends; Will Coccia, Pete Ciccone, and David Beitler which has solidified the current line up of his live band"The Reason Why".

🔊Since 2018, Galen has toured across the United States, headlining festivals, and opening for acts like Trevor Hall, Dirtwire, The Happy Fits, and more. Galen's songs have found placements in TV shows like "Grey’s Anatomy” and “Young and the Restless." Internationally, he's performed in Australia, Scotland, India, and England. Now most recently, in the beginning of 2024 he signed with SSK Records to release a series of brand new songs under his own name.

🌟9.3 Spotlight: Ashley Klein🌟

✨💃🧘‍♀️Ashley Klein (Ed.S) is a dancer, retreat facilitator, and music business manager based in Sedona, Arizona (United States). She supports the world music performance and healing practice of Poranguí, with the mission of helping to awaken individuals through the healing power of music and dance. Additionally, Ashley co-creates retreats based in Sedona and Eden Hot Springs creating containers for individuals to dive deep and blossom into awakening consciousness. She has a background as a school psychologist working with children and young adults with special needs, and is a dancer, yogi, and healing artist at heart. Her movement background ranges from pointe shoes to pom pons, with a current focus on African diaspora dances. Among others, she is a student of Rosangela Silvestre, Kimberly Miguel Mullen, and Samantha Sweetwater, and is a Certified Facilitator of Dancing Freedom. She has been facilitating Dancing Freedom since 2009 including at retreats and festivals such as Lightening in a Bottle and Symbiosis.

This Sunday we're thrilled to welcome back Lani G to EDC 🎉🎉
Stick around to the end of dance for a potluck with the community 🥗

Ecstatic dance is a substance free, conscious dance event that features no phones, shoes, words, substances or judgements. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door 🎟

🔷Lani G:
First generation Yoruba-American, born and raised in Alabama, Olaniyi Gaiusbayode is visual performing artist and DJ who specializes in various styles of dance ranging from African, Latin, Ballroom and Street. He has a wide interest in different genres of music, such as House, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, Salsa, Bachata, Reggae ect. Throughout his career, he has worked with and serviced various companies and organizations such as The Lincoln Theater, The Berry & Nance Dance Project and Atrevidos Dance Company, Amazon, The Limited Brand ect, and is a current member of MKZ and I AM D.A.N.C.E LLC 🔥

As a creative artist, Olaniyi continues to grow and share his love of music & dance to the surrounding communities by performing, educating, and DJ'ing. His love for people wanting to facilitate spaces where they can enjoy themselves and each other through music and dance is a joy he continues to cultivate 🌟🙏

🔦Sunday's Artist Spotlight: DJ Ayala 🔥

💠DJ Ayala:
Ayala aspires to create transformational experiences through music and facilitation. She has been the resident DJ for EDC for the past couple of years and has shared the stage with artists such as Soohan, David Starfire and Beat Kitty. She attended her very first ecstatic dance in Columbus many years ago. While living in California, she rediscovered ecstatic dance and the depth of its creation of connection and community. Upon moving back to Columbus she began facilitating and DJing for ecstatic dances. Some influences include Samadhi of Ecstatic Dance Evolution Network, the ecstatic dance LA community, and Soohan. Ayala intertwines a variety of genres throughout her sets to create a dynamic flow that compliments ecstatic dance journeys. Some of her current favorites are mega funk and bass.

🌎From deep, earthy didgeridoo grooves to high-vibe Brazilian beats to African kalimba lullabies, he creates his music from scratch using looping technology, taking his audience on a sonic journey that transcends cultural & stylistic boundaries. Poranguí’s live grooves range from meditative to dance music, moving the body, lifting the spirit, and transcending the divide between performer and audience.

🔊With an impressive list of collaborations, Poranguí has worked with artists like Rising Appalachia, Desert Dwellers, Dirtwire, Shaman’s Dream, Liquid Bloom, Ayla Nereo, and many more. He has also performed at numerous festivals and events internationally such as TEDx, SXSW, Ozora and Boom Fest, to name a few.

🙏For Poranguí, his work is more than just a profession; it is a calling that drives him to explore new ways of telling the stories of our ancestors and augmenting the voice of PachaMama in ways that resonate with our contemporary culture.
