Don’t throw away your shot! Step up to the Mic! Sing, dance, tell jokes, recite poetry, tell a story, rock out with your band, do magic tricks, juggle, create art, play an instrument – whatever your talent is, your 5 minutes of fame is here!

Sign up below to reserve your 5-minute timeslot, then show up Friday, June 12th ready to perform! We’ll provide the place, the mics, the pianist, the sound technician, and refreshments at intermission. Bring your friends and family to cheer you on, as well as everything you need to perform, including a printed copy of your music if you need our pianist to accompany you.

In keeping with the true spirit of an open mic night, we are reserving a few additional slots beyond those available here for anyone who shows up that night to perform. A sign-up list for these additional slots will be available at the door on June 12th, and they will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.

Since its founding in 2003, King Avenue Players has had one mission: a simple, radical belief that quality theatrical and musical productions should be accessible to all, regardless of the ability to pay. For 23 years, this has been our continuing mission and we are very proud of the free, high-quality productions we’ve offered to delight our friends and family at King Avenue UMC and in Central Ohio.

As our Board looks to this current season and beyond, we find that we are facing a new challenge, one that is sadly familiar to so many in this current economic and political climate. While our passion for the arts and our unwavering commitment to providing free shows for all remain the same, the costs associated with our productions have risen significantly.

Therefore, King Avenue Players is launching our KAP Annual Sponsorship Levels! This is your big break to “shine like the star you are” and make a generous donation in support of our ongoing mission! Choose the donation level that best fits your budget and give online today. Simply scan the QR Code in the graphic below or text “KINGAVE GIVE2KAP$25.00” (or your preferred donation amount) to 73256. Make sure you choose “KAP Sponsorship” as the Fund or add “KAP Sponsorship” in the memo line. King Avenue Players isn’t just here to put on a show. We are a vital part of King Avenue UMC and the local community theatre scene, and we want to do more! After much deliberation, King Avenue Players and Director Scott Clay are bursting with joy to announce that WE HAVE OUR CAST! Congratulations one and all! We are soooo excited to begin this artistic journey with you as we prepare to share this beautiful story with everyone during Pride month!

Last night's auditions were fantastic (Thanks so much, eveyone!) and we know that tonight's auditions will be fabulous! 6:30 pm on the Third Floor of King Avenue UMC!

UPDATE: Callbacks (if needed) will be Wednesday, April 22nd at 6:30 pm not Tuesday, April 21st as listed in the audition information below. This means the first rehearsal/table read is moved to Sunday, April 26th at 6:30 pm, not April 22nd as stated below.

Don't miss your shot! Step up to the mic but do it "Holiday Style"! Choose your favorite holiday and celebrate it as you showcase your unique talent. Sing, dance, juggle, tell jokes, recite poetry, tell a story, do a skit, create art, rock out with your band, share an original song, show us your mad skills on the Alp horn - It's your choice because it's your talent! In keeping with the true spirit of an open mic night, there will be a few spots available for anyone who wishes to sign up that night (Nov. 14th) to perform. This sign up sheet will be available at the door.
