Do you like to interact with folks and get people excited about CEC? Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that can be flexible around your schedule? Do you want to see our shows for free? Read on, because these opportunities are for you!

-- Our Box Office volunteer positions are some of our most flexible. We're looking to expand our crew of "regulars" to take tickets and work at the box office, and we're looking for a few volunteers who could help with some of the ongoing box office tasks. These are great opportunities for students, people who want flexible involvement, and people who want to see every show!

-- Our Marketing committee plans and implements marketing for our events, is always looking for new ways to advertise, and works to build in-kind advertising partnerships with local businesses. They also manage the social media and other marketing platforms. This is a great opportunity for people who love to make connections and people who love to make content!

If either of these opportunities sound interesting to you, RSVP for our New Volunteer Recruitment Meet and Greet on Tuesday, September 5th! We'll have light refreshments and more information about these and other opportunities.

You can find more information on our Facebook event at https://fb.me/e/SViqeO0n or by filling out the RSVP form at https://forms.gle/Whxh8w1M7FfDvN2AA

These opportunities not your cup of tea? We have lots of opportunities, so check out our previous Committee and Volunteering Spotlights, or come on out to our event-- we'll help find a volunteer opportunity that's right for you!

Don't forget: one lucky person who likes and shares our Spotlight posts will win two free tickets to ANY Season 45 performance! The more Spotlight posts you share, the more chances you have to win!

Do you like to make a plan and get stuff done? Do you have experience in theater tech, a trade, or writing policies? Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that's behind the scenes but critical for long-term success? Read on, because these committees are for you!

-- Our Technical Advisory committee works on all things tech and facilities. They plan upgrades and maintenance on our exciting systems, like lighting and sound, and our less exciting systems, like HVAC and plumbing. They also help recruit and organize technical volunteers for shows and events.

-- Our Policies and Procedures Committee is perfect for people with big ideas, people who love efficiency, and the "rules lawyers" among us. Members of this committee evaluate current policies and create standard procedures so the theater can run effectively. This committee is often less visible than a set runner dressed in black, but it makes the CEC experience better for everyone involved!

If either of these committees sound interesting to you, RSVP for our New Volunteer Recruitment Meet and Greet on Tuesday, September 5th! We'll have light refreshments and more information about these and other opportunities.

Calling all Columbia movers and shakers!

Do you like to network? Are you great at promoting causes you believe in? Are you passionate about creating strong relationships in your community? CEC has two committees for you!

-- Our Fundraising Committee plans our fundraising events, builds relationships with sponsors and volunteers, and works with grants and other fundraising opportunities.

-- Our Community Outreach and Involvement Committee maintains and strengthens community relationships, plans and implements community outreach, and is always looking for ways to keep CEC involved and visible in the community.

(Not a stage person? Don't worry, actual movement and shaking-- and theatre experience-- is not required for either committee!)

If either of these committees sound interesting to you, RSVP for our New Volunteer Recruitment Meet and Greet on Tuesday, September 5th! We'll have light refreshments and more information about these and other opportunities.

You can find more information on our Facebook event at https://fb.me/e/SViqeO0n or by filling out the RSVP form at https://forms.gle/Whxh8w1M7FfDvN2AA

These committees not your cup of tea? We have lots of opportunities, so stay tuned for more Committee and Volunteering Spotlights!

We want to spread the word far and wide about this event, so one lucky person who likes and shares our Spotlight posts will win two free tickets to ANY Season 45 performance! The more Spotlight posts you share, the more chances you have to win!

CEC is accepting Director Applications for
August Wilson's The Piano Lesson -
It is 1936, and Boy Willie arrives in Pittsburgh from the South in a battered truck loaded with watermelons to sell. He has an opportunity to buy some land down home, but he has to come up with the money right quick. He wants to sell an old piano that has been in his family for generations, but he shares ownership with his sister and it sits in her living room. She has already rejected several offers because the antique piano is covered with incredible carvings detailing the family’s rise from slavery. Boy Willie tries to persuade his stubborn sister that the past is past, but she is more formidable than he anticipated.

Did you know that Columbia Entertainment Company is a nonprofit? Yup, it sure is. And you can only imagine how difficult it’s been the past 2+ yrs to be a small theatre company. So we hope you’ll get out and support their first musical production in two years, the classic, The Producers. It’s sure to bring the laughter you need right now.
Congratulations to Nora Dietzel for her latest and greatest accomplishment! Be sure to mark your calendars for April 2022 to see her in action with Columbia Entertainment Company !!
On this PODCAST of Columbia Morning with David Lile, David Hall is directing and putting the choreography together for the current production at Columbia Entertainment Company . The play is THE WINTER WONDERETTES.

Last night, some of our SFCC Theatre students were hosted by Columbia Entertainment Company to see their production of ARSENIC AND OLD LACE!

This production features SFCC Theatre Program Coordinator, Ryan Mahannah as Mortimer Brewster! After the show, the students were given a full access and backstage tour of the theatre by Stage Manager of ARSENIC AND OLD LACE - Lynn Lynch of CEC! Our students got to see the workings of the theatre inside and out as well as seeing some historic set pieces and costumes from past productions. They were also given the chance to ask questions about the world of theatre as well.

Thank you Lynn and CEC for hosting our students and allowing them to tour the space. We appreciated it!!

Anyone who wants to see the show, it’s running now through Oct. 31 in Columbia, MO! Get your tickets at: cectheatre.simpletix.com.
Just a few things going on at CEC!
