What an amazing weekend. Thank you volunteers and cheers to everyone who tried a new skill of snorkeling and learned about coral reefs. Pictures are up here, feel free to send any more to be added to the album!

Sorry to say that due to storms the rest of the evening is canceled.

If you were signed up today, you are welcome to come anytime tomorrow (though 10:30 is the busiest time so we recommend before or after that shift).

Volunteers we can still use your help tomorrow which looks to be a busy day!

Thanks to the volunteers who helped us fill 2000 lbs of sandbags (200 10 pound bags).

These will help hold our fish and coral down. SCUBA divers will be installing on Friday.

Frequently asked questions:

Are lifejackets provided? YES

Are masks provided? YES

Can I bring my own mask? YES

My child is used to goggles but not a mask. Can they bring goggles?
Yes. Bring the goggles. But encourage them to try the mask first. There will be a volunteer in the shallow end assisting with trying the mask.

My child is not a strong swimmer- can they still experience the reef?
YES but with a lifejacket and an adult going through with them.

What should we wear?
We recommend a swim shirt over a bathing suit since we are discouraging sunscreen since there will be a lot of people in the pool in a short time and it overloads the filters.

How long will I be there?
When you show up for your shift you will check in and line up for masks. Then you will enter at the shallow end to get comfortable in the mask before starting the reef path. Then you will have plenty of time to do multiple swims through the reef since the shift is 1h and 45 minutes. Some people go through once or twice and leave after a half hour - and some stick around and do lots of swims through the reef!
