From sweat to sparkles… next stop, Nationals! ✨

Thank you all for such a wonderful night at the Gala. We are so excited to kick off Nationals tomorrow and are truly honored to be able to give the gift of the Gala to our dancers and families. It was such a special night celebrating this season, our dancers’ hard work, and the incredible community we have at Backstage.

A special congratulations to our Dancer of the Year, Ariel O’Leary, and our Dance Teacher of the Year, Carissa Havrilko! We are so proud of you both.

Congratulations to our Fan Favorite Dance of the Year, “Flex Up!” A special shoutout to Miss Aniyah Alvelo for her creativity, energy, and the heart she poured into this routine. We are so proud of the dancers who brought it to life!

We also want to give a huge thank you to our teachers, alumni, volunteers, and of course, Ms. Karen, for helping make the party such a success. We could not do this without you!

And to our 8 graduating seniors, what a beautiful sendoff. We are so proud of each of you, and to the 4 seniors who started right here at Backstage from the very beginning, your dedication and loyalty mean more than words can say. We are going to miss all of you so much.

Now let’s take all of this love, excitement, and sparkle with us to Nationals! 💙

From Rock-N-Tots to senior year, Logan’s journey at Backstage has been such a special one to watch. Her dedication, hard work, and positive attitude have carried her through the years, and she has become such an inspiration and role model to the younger dancers on our team — always willing to help, encourage, and lead by example.

Logan is not only incredibly gifted as a dancer, but also as a student and young woman. Her athleticism, grace, intelligence, and artistry have made her into such a beautiful performer, and we cannot wait to see her continue shining at Catholic University next year.

Halee brings bold energy into every room she walks into and explosive performance quality every time she steps on stage. Over the years, she has grown into such a powerful, thoughtful, and dynamic dancer, and her senior year has truly shown just how much she has come into her own.

Her understanding of textures, dynamics, and moments within her movement has continued to grow, making her performances even more captivating. We are so proud of the dancer and young woman Halee has become, and we cannot wait to see her continue shining at North Carolina A&T State University next year.

Alyssa has been a firecracker on the dance floor since she was a tiny dancer, always catching your eye the moment she steps on stage. With her edge, performance quality, technical strength, and incredible flexibility, she has grown into such a dynamic, well-rounded performer and a true force on stage.

Her journey is such a beautiful reminder of what can happen when hard work meets confidence, opportunity, and belief in yourself. We are so proud of the dancer and young woman Alyssa has become, and we cannot wait to see her continue shining at Towson University next year while also continuing to instill a love for dance in the next generation through teaching.

Hannah has grown tremendously throughout her years at Backstage, and it has been so special to watch her truly flourish into the dancer and young woman she is today. She brings so much passion to the stage, and we have loved seeing her confidence, strength, and artistry continue to shine.

We are so proud to have been part of Ariel’s dance journey and to have had her as part of our Show Troupe team. Ariel is one of the sweetest people and has always been such a wonderful role model, especially to our younger dancers. Through her time as an apprentice, she has poured so much love, encouragement, and joy into the littles at Backstage.
