Trustus Theatre is partnering with Food Not Bombs Midlands to collect food items, personal products, and donations during the run of Urinetown the Musical! Food Not Bombs Midlands is a mutual aid group focused on food and housing justice in Columbia and the greater Midlands area, feeding our unhoused neighbors four days a week outside the Richland Library Main location. Urinetown's story of wealth disparity, resource limitation, and revolution rings true in our very own backyard, and it's a story that resonates with Food Not Bombs Midlands' cause.

AUDITION NOTICE!

We will be holding auditions for SEASON 42 MUSICALS on June 29th and 30th at 7pm (excluding Cabaret) and SEASON 42 PLAYS on July 13th and 14th at 7pm!

Those auditioning need only attend ONE night, not both. For MUSICAL auditions, please prepare 30 seconds - 1 minute of a contemporary or pop/rock musical song that shows off your range. For PLAY auditions, please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue from a contemporary piece. Those auditioning must be 18 or older by the first rehearsal.

Callbacks will take place for individual shows on an as-needed basis. Please fill out the audition form on our website IN ADVANCE as we will only be able to see a maximum of 50 people each night and we want to ensure that everyone can be seen!

Urinetown is a hilarious and resonating tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. It is a social and political satire set in a fictional future where a terrible 20-year drought has crippled the city’s water supplies. Water is so scarce that the government enforces a ban on all private toilets in an effort to control water consumption. Citizens who try to circumvent the peeing-fee by relieving themselves in the bushes, risk being taken away to “Urinetown”, a mysterious place where many have been sent but no one ever returns…
