With the announcement of the death of beloved country entertainer and entrepreneur Dolly Parton:

Dolly performed at the Adair County Fair Grounds on one occasion, September 1971 with Porter Wagoner, Spec Rhodes and the Wagon Masters.

Attached are two articles/ads. The advertisement is from The Green River Sprite, 11 September 1971, just prior to the show. The second is the article in the Columbia Statesman on 23 September 1971, just after the massive show!

The benefit show was to support the newly organized Adair County Rescue Squad which was a response to the devastating 1971 tornado that ripped through our area that claimed several lives.
