MOSY is home to the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, the Missouri Symphony Conservatory, and the Missouri Symphony League.

Three violinists. One family. One remarkable evening.

Join us for our Fiery Legacies concert as guest artists Solveig and Linnea Geenen take the stage alongside their mother, Siri Geenen, for a special performance celebrating family, mentorship, and a shared love of music.

A longtime member of the Missouri Symphony Orchestra since 2005 and Concertmaster of the Columbia Civic Orchestra since 2003, Siri Geenen is an award-winning violinist and educator who has dedicated her career to sharing music with students and audiences throughout Mid-Missouri.

Originally from Columbia, Solveig Geenen is a professional violinist based in Southeast Michigan, performing with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Opera Orchestra, and Lansing Symphony Orchestra. Linnea Geenen is a senior violin performance major at the University of Michigan and has performed with orchestras throughout Michigan and Missouri, including the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra and the Missouri Symphony Orchestra.

Together, Solveig and Linnea will perform Joseph Bologne’s Symphonie Concertantes, a brilliant and virtuosic work featured alongside Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony in a program exploring a powerful musical legacy across generations.

As we celebrate MOSY's 55th Anniversary, we take a moment to honor the vision that started it all.

In 1970, Hugo and Lucy Vianello founded the Missouri Symphony with a mission to bring symphonic music and music education to Mid-Missouri. Over the past 55 years, that vision has grown into an organization that continues to enrich our community through the Orchestra, Conservatory, and League.

Today, we celebrate not only Hugo and Lucy, but the entire Vianello family, whose dedication, support, and commitment have helped shape MOSY into what it is today.

Their legacy lives on in every performance, every student, every volunteer, and every audience member who experiences the power of live music.

Thank you, Hugo and Lucy, and thank you to the entire Vianello family for 55 years of music, education, and community.

Tomorrow, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

In observance of Memorial Day, our office will be closed tomorrow as we take time to reflect on the meaning of this day and pay tribute to those who served. We wish everyone a safe and meaningful holiday.

Spark will now take place in Sheryl Crow Hall at the Sinquefield Music Center. Lumen and Ember will both now be held in Whitmore Recital Hall in the Fine Arts Building.

This Sunday, our Missouri Symphony Conservatory students take the stage for their final concert of the season at the Missouri Theatre!

Join us for a special afternoon celebrating the dedication, artistry, and growth of these talented young musicians. Featuring performances by the Overture Philharmonic Orchestra and the Missouri Youth Symphony under the direction of Briana Miller, this concert highlights a year of hard work, collaboration, and musical achievement.

For many students, the opportunity to perform at the historic Missouri Theatre is an exciting milestone in their musical journey. The performance will be followed by a reception sponsored by the Missouri Symphony League.
