Stage 5 Theater

Hey all!
I'm the Theatre teacher at Spring Valley and I'm looking for some alternative seating for my classroom- floor pillows, beanbags, benches etc so if you were getting rid of anything like this for cheap, or if you want to donate it, please let me know. I would love to take it off your hands and give my students somewhere else to sit besides the tiny tiny desks that they have. Thank you!! ❤️

It is with a sad heart that we pass on the news that William Antley, an actor who was a part of the Stage 5 family has passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Arrangements are not known at this time.

Today is Michaels' Birthday. He Pasted on back in January 2014. He was The Best Artistic Director and Director I have ever known and had the honor of working with in Theatre. I miss him greatly still and will for some time. Happy Birthday - Michael and tell them all "Do Good and don't F**k up".

Stage 5 Theatre was just invited to the opening of a new Play to be opened this October in Columbia, South Carolina. We are always glad to see new talent and new playwrights and new scripts coming to Columbia. This particular play was encouraged, assisted and formed at Stage 5 Theatre with the fantastic genius of Michael Bailey, Stage 5 Theatre's then Artistic Director. Stage 5 has a contract with the playwright to Review the Play prior to it being produced by Anyone in the Theatre community. We also have the Right's to "First Refusal" and acknowledgement of our help in bringing this work and play to the World. We are proud of the playwright for finishing the work after we had worked with her for over a Year and had stage readings and Creative input during that time. In addition our contract with this playwright requires a notation on all playbills that Stage 5 was instrumental in bringing this play to audiences. This needs to be addressed and we will let you all know how it goes. We wish the very best to this play and playwright in all her endeavors. More to come, l am sure. Stage 5 Theatre is looking for investors and Donations to reenter the Theatre place in Columbia South Carolina and the surrounding market area. We lost our last pace because of the area it was in was not conducive to our customers to find. Stage 5 Theatre has spent the summer down time looking for a new home that is more convient for our patrons. I am sorry to announce we have not found a location. We have also looked for Contributors to help with funding needed to keep the theatre going. Again we have failed. The Stage 5 Board and I have thus decided to not continue with producing Plays and Performances for the Columbia Market and close our Doors! We have had a great 8 years of wonderful plays and performances for those that found us and attended. Evidently what we thought Columbia needed was not what Columbia wanted. Thanks for all of you that came out and showed up your support and we sincerely loved every one of you and if we can find a venue and donors maybe we will try again. I will maintain this site as a method to keep you loyal patrons up to date as to what is happening with Stage 5 Theatre. Thanks. Charles Chavers, Productions Director, Stage 5.

Tonight at 9PM Curtain - due to the crawfish festival on Rosewood - and Tomorrow Sunday at 3PM. Cash, credit card and check at the Door. It is getting closer to the Opening Day of Psycho Beach Party on April 25th, Friday at 8PM at Stage 5 - sets are coming alive and cast pictures have been made. Brock Henderson is making posters for each Cast Member and if you like them they can be purchased at the Box Office on Show nights.
