SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: SOPHIA OTT

Sophia has been dancing at Teelin for 4 years and danced for Hurley for 7 years. She is now an open champion dancer, and throughout her years competed as a soloist and on figure teams. She has been a part of the Teelin Irish Dance Company for the past 3 years and has loved sharing her love of dance with others. Her favorite memories are roadtrips to feis with friends and before show shenanigans! Sophia will graduate from Academy of the Holy Cross in May and attend Fordham University in the fall to study business and fashion.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: GINA MORRISON

Gina’s dance career began at The Hurley School of Irish Dance (in the Tir na Nog class with Ms. Margaret), where she grew into an open champion dancer and made countless dance memories and close friends under the direction of her mother, Annie Hurley Morrison. She then joined Teelin in 2023 and has enjoyed meeting new friends and traveling to compete all over North American, grateful for the support of all of her past teachers; Mom, Margaret, Lizzy, Doug, Sarah, Emma, Zoe, Maureen and team. Some of her favorite memories of dance include traveling to Orlando, Montreal, Texas, and even Ireland! And most importantly, the friends she’s made along the way! She’s also enjoyed learning new makeup techniques and getting makeup done with Ms. Lizzy.

Gina has loved growing up in the world of Irish dance and the friends she has made along the way. Irish dance will always be a part of her life as she looks ahead into the next chapter. Gina will be graduating from Linganore High School in Frederick, MD, where she also participated in Marching Band all four years and led the band this year as a Drum Major. She plans to attend Marymount University in Arlington, VA in the Fall on a pre-physical therapy track.
