This is going to be a very special event next Saturday. We have a new art exhibit by Indian artist Rajasekhar Yarraguntla. There will be a kid's Art Zone, demonstrations, dancing, music, Indian food, Bollywood film clips, and hundreds of lights on Lee Avenue. You won't want to miss it!
10:30am : Stanley Arts Center doors open
11:00am : Opening Ceremony & Artist Talk
11:30am : Setup for Golu/Bammamala koluvu ("Festival of Dolls" these festive displays of dolls and figurines are typical in India during the Autumn season.)
12pm : Kids Art Zone opens
12pm - 2pm : Rangoli making (Rangoli is an ancient Indian art form that involves creating intricate patterns on the floor. Rangoli is typically made using materials like powdered limestone, red ochre, dry rice flour, colored sand, quartz powder, flower petals, and colored rocks. The designs are created using the thumb and forefinger.)
3pm - 4pm : Cultural programs. Enjoy traditional music and dance performances.
5pm : Lighting of the lamps. Join us for the lighting of hundreds of (LED) candles on Lee Avenue in a tribute to the festival of Diwali.

*Bollywood explosion : India's booming film industry produces musical films that have become famous around the world. Bollywood short films and clips will be shown throughout the day inside the Palmetto Theater .
