This week, the ColaJazz Foundation brought in 2,000 5th graders to the Koger Center for the Arts to experience our program on South Carolina Jazz History and Jazz Appreciation.
In the past 12 days, ColaJazz, has visited schools in Beaufort, Lancaster, Summerton, Ruffin, Lexington, Columbia, Newberry, Florence and more presenting our celebrated Jazz Outreach programs. That is 12 school visits in 12 days, PLUS the concert at the Koger Center.
Thousands of young people are learning about Jazz, experiencing Jazz and being exposed to powerful messages on how to communicate effectively, that it is cool to be uniquely who you are, to appreciate the differences around us, how to work well together, how to address conflict and resolution and so much more.
Never before has it been more important and timely to support our efforts. YOU are providing us the means to achieve the above and give our local artists meaningful work.
