Our final 2026 senior shout out!
My name is Lacey and I am graduating from Centennial High School. I will be attending the University of Maryland, College Park this fall with a major in real estate development, and will be apart of the dance team. I first started dancing at Arabesque when I was 4 years old! My favorite memories are moments with my team before we go on stage at competitions, The Nutcracker performances, and spending time out to eat or on the beach with my friends at nationals. My favorite dances that I have done at Arabesque are Fall in Line (Ms. Gracie’s jazz 2022), Nothing’s as Cool as Swing (Jill’s tap 2025), Pay As You Go (my junior year solo by Jill) and performing Waltz of the Flowers as Butterfly in The Nutcracker. As I have grown up at Arabesque, I have learned how to dance with heart and soul - being able to look past the motions and the steps and dance from a deeper place that comes from my passion for the art. In addition to being able to explore my passion, I have been consistently inspired by the kindness and creativity of teammates and teachers. The community that Arabesque cultivates is so comfortable and I have never been afraid to express myself, which is something no dancer should be hesitant to do. To all dancers currently growing up at Arabesque - explore your passion: movement quality, textures, dynamics, don’t be scared to be unique! Always remember who inspires you and all the people who put in effort for you to do what you love - dance!

Our first 2026 senior spotlight! Milana!

My name is Milana Shimer and I will be graduating from Centennial High School. I will be attending LSU and majoring in Public Relations. A favorite memory from my time at Arabesque is bonding with the team and realizing that these girls are truly my best friends and feeling so grateful for them. My favorite dance that I have done at Arabesque is Hip Hop Team 2025, This is the Remix.   My advice to the younger dancers is to take a step back from the stress juggling of dance, school and to take everything in. You’ll never dance with this specific group of girls in these specific dances again, so find a moment of gratitude in every moment.

Milana, we have enjoyed getting to know you over the last few years. Getting to see your personality come out and your friendships form over the years has been so fun to watch. We can’t wait to see you shine at recital, nationals and at LSU! We are so lucky to have been apart of your journey and are so excited to see where you future takes you!
Don’t forget to come visit next year! 💜💛
