Meet Nicole Carmack-Belton and her Sun Cyrus Carmack-Belton.

Cyrus Carmack-Belton was Funny. Not just regular funny — "Chris Rock funny", as one of his teachers remembered him. Quick. Sharp. Curious. The kind of child who could break the tension in a room with one line and leave people laughing before they even realized they needed joy.

He was smart, too. The kind of smart that asked questions bigger than his years.That was Cyrus — playful, but paying attention. Smiling, but thinking. Young, but already trying to understand the world around him.

His Mother, Nicole, wrote about his charismatic energy, the smile that could melt your heart, his pranks, his roasting skills, and the way he kept everybody on their toes. Her "Cyrus Monroe" as she liked to call him; "To Know Him, is to Love Him."..

Cyrus was funny enough to make even grown people laugh. Curious enough to ask hard questions that made to think. Tender and. Loved enough that his absence still speaks...

Cyrus deserved more chances to become every good thing already living inside him.

And we remember Cyrus with Love...All of Us.

Meet Bettye Dinkins, and her Sun, Joseph Dinkins.

Joseph William Dinkins was born on November 29, 1985 at McCleod Hospital in Florence, South Carolina to his parents, Ms. Bettye Dinkins and Mr. Charles Robinson.

“JW” or “Dub” as he was affectionately known, was raised in Florence, SC, until he relocated to Orangeburg, SC with his mother, Bettye.

Joseph loved working on cars and his favorite football team was the "Indianapolis Colts".

From Joseph's Mother,

"My son Joseph was killed on September 19th, 2020, by someone he knew and visited when he came to Orangeburg. It's been the hardest thing to accept.

He was my only son and left behind four children: Zaniyah, Cajmeir, J'Kwon, and J' Nayisah Dinkins.

We miss him so much.". - Bettye Dinkins

Meet Roberta Gory-Mckelvin and her Sun, Nathaniel "Nate" Mckelvin III.

In the words of Mrs. Mckelvin,

"Nate was Smart, Kind, Humble, Helpful and a Hard Worker. He played Football in High School. Never talked back to me, a Momma’s Boy, so Respectful. Laid-back kind of Guy. "Cool baby cool", the Biggest smile that would light up a room.

My only Son, 21-year-old Nathaniel Mckelvin III. Nate was unarmed when he was shot and killed on November 15, 2013, in Columbia, South Carolina, while sitting on a best friend’s porch. Two of his friends were shot and survived. A Friday night I’ll never forget...he was shot and Killed.

It took two years to make an arrest. No one would talk, no snitching. After five years of meetings and fighting for Nate’s justice, a plea deal.

I am Nate’s voice. I became involved in efforts to stop gun violence: gun violence prevention. We all have to get involved. I am speaking out to help prevent gun violence. To save lives and make our communities safer. Senseless gun violence has to stop: It’s too much, it hurts. We need common-sense gun laws. I have turned my pain into power. I Honor Nate with action: I host a food drive in memory and honor of Nate; Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense In America, survivor community outreach leader; I volunteer with Everytown for Gun Safety Survivor Network."

Meet Jacqueline Wright and her Sunshine, Jasmine Gantt.

In the words of Jasmine's Parents...

"She was about to see her dream of a career in the field of medicine; as she was set to graduate with her Associate’s Degree in medical assisting in July of 2022.

But, at just 21 years of age, her future was stolen, as she was killed by her boyfriend in June of 2022, just one month before her graduation. Jasmine’s twin sister walked across the graduation stage and collected her diploma in her honor.

Jasmine had Everything in front of her, and her Future was Bright. She wanted to help people and live a full happy and safe life. She Deserved to Experience All the Beautiful things her Future held. But she’ll never get to do that because she was shot and killed by someone she loved. And after the death of Jasmine, our Family banded together through the unimaginable suffering.

Through the Grief, "Project Jasmine" gave us a purpose greater than ourselves...We wish to Protect others against Domestic Abuse and Gun Violence. Together, we can make a difference to protect others from becoming victims."

Jasmine should be here with us. You are Loved and Honored Jasmine.
