With an overwhelming sense of elation and joy I wanted to share that CARDV Presents a Valentine’s Drag Show at the Playhouse was a tremendous success. Last night’s lineup of brilliant performers brought down the house as the audience reveled in a show overflowing with charisma, uniqueness, and talent. In the Playhouse’s nearly 100-year history, it may be impossible to find an event that was packed with more fun and flair than last night’s show.
I want to thank everyone who made this event possible. To the amazingly talented performers who delivered a memorable and fun show, thank you. A special thank you to Veronika Versace for being an incredible (and hilarious) MC. To those who sponsored the event and made it all possible, thank you. To the volunteers who planned, set up, and worked the event, thank you. To the Playhouse staff and board, especially, Jamie and Brian, thank you for everything. To the CARDV staff and board, thank you for your dedication to our organization, the community, and the survivors we serve. Thank you to Cory for his amazing ASL interpretation, to the dedicated Fulton Police Officers, and Shaun and Tyler.
Finally, thank you to last night’s awesome audience. Thank you for your patience as we ironed out some last-minute details, thank you for your generous tips and donations, and most importantly thank you for filling the theater with love, laughter, and fun.
I am truly honored, humbled and filled with gratitude to have met so many wonderful people last night. The way this community came together to not only support CARDV but to support the first Drag Show ever performed at the Playhouse was truly inspiring.
The performers, waiters, and bartenders all donated last night’s tips to CARDV, this combined with ticket sales, shirt sales, individual donations and sponsorships made this the most successful CARDV fundraiser in a decade. For this, I simply cannot thank everyone enough. Stay tuned for final total of funds raised.
We will leave shirt sales open until February 20th so there is still plenty of time to order. Be sure to check out the DIVAS by Design page to be in the know about upcoming performances from last night’s talented Queens, Veronika Versace, Liz Anya, Lisa De La Renta, Lorilie Queen, and Jennicka Fierz.
Sincerely,
Tyler Rieke, CARDV Executive Director
