Meet the Divas! For Pride month, we are highlighting the cast members of Divas by Design. Up next is Joseph McDonald, aka Musica Malone!

1. How long have been doing drag? 30 years

2. Favorite song to perform?
Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston

3. Favorite part about being a drag performer?
I love to find the sadness, darkness, and despair of feeling alone as a q***r in the audience and perform to them or for them until all that negative turns to light in the form of a smile or a little twinkle of happiness in their eye.

4. Favorite drag memory?
16 hrs in drag with Cassandra Love former Miss Gay Missouri USofA, performing first in my show at Contacts the bar (now Billiards on Broadway) in Columbia. Then we drove to Saint Louis because she was booked in a back to back set at the famous FACES nightclub, in East STL. Then we punched it back to Columbia at about 8am. Rolled into Columbia around 10:30 am the next day. Then I beat down my friends door where I was living because I had held my bladder the ENTIRE 16HRS.

5. What does pride month mean to you?
Pride is a celebration and a continuous FIGHT to be free and allowed to live and love those that love you.

Meet the Divas! For Pride month we are highlighting the cast members of Divas by Design. Up next is our resident skinny legend whose name leaves nothing to the imagination, Bea Jay Enidae!!!

1. How long have been doing drag?
I've been doing drag for over ten years! It'll be eleven on October 1st this year!

2. Favorite song to perform?
Bobby Caldwell - What You Won't Do For Love

3. Favorite part about being a drag performer?
The amazing feeling you get when an audience is really vibing with your song as much as you are.

4. Favorite drag memory?
Jumping off a stage that was six feet in the air and nearly breaking my ankle, but continuing to perform two more numbers anyway.

5. What does pride month mean to you?
To me, Pride month is a reminder that we are all seeking a sense of community and a feeling of safety with each other. It's a reminder that the world is bigger than whatever show is going on, but every show and performance helps make the world a better place.

For Pride month we are highlighting the cast members of Divas by Design. Up next is one of our resident drag kings and a national title holder, Miles High!!!

1. How long have you been doing drag?
3 years this go around.
2. Favorite song to perform? There's a few but definitely Bruno Mars and Usher.
3. Favorite part about being a drag performer? I enjoy showing a different side of my personality, and being a connecting piece between the music and the audience.
4. Favorite drag memory? Going to Nationals was really amazing to connect and meet drag folk from all over. I went in very focused on putting my best foot forward, and messed around and won!!
5. What does pride month mean to you?
Pride month is both a time of joy and honor. In a world where q***r people are often made to feel that their needs aren't important, Pride is a time to honor the ancestors that came before us paving the way. And a time to celebrate all the beauty of our community.

For Pride Month, we are highlighting the cast members of Divas by Design. Up next is our resident comedy queen, May O'naise!!!

1. How long have been doing drag? 4 years

2. Favorite song to perform? I mean… “Suds In The Bucket” for country, but honestly I loved preforming “My Days” from the Notebook.

3. Favorite part about being a drag performer? The artistry, and the illusion that allows me to express the pure androgyny and femininity that normally I don’t. Also, the love and support from and for both my local and no local friends, family, and fellow q***rs

4. Favorite drag memory? I would say… probably going to nationals for America’s Bearded Queen. Was I ever gonna win, no, however the experience and community that surrounded me was breathtaking.

5. What does pride month mean to you?
I mean… for me personally, it’s a month to just be feral and q***r. But… and it’s a big but, it’s also a time to embody radical acceptance and extent warm to your fellow q***rs. Pride is not just celebration, it’s conglomeration… without freedom and justice for all we do not have it ourselves.
