Happy Thanksgiving! 🍂🍁

Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate new friends and old and to be grateful for our blessings.

I am thankful for my friends and family who love, support and encourage me! I am also thankful for my good health and happy home!

(To be clear, I celebrate the intent of the Thanksgiving meal, not the outcome of atrocities committed against Native Americans which should never have occurred.)

A 🌨️ snow ❄️ day was the perfect day to try new chocolate 🍫 flavors “Frankenstein” and “Jolabokaflod” based in Icelandic tradition.

The Icelandic lava salt in “Frankenstein heightens the taste of the raspberry! 😋

In “Jolabokaflod” at first I tasted the dark chocolate & orange, then the warmth of the cloves, finally I was hit with a spike of cinnamon. The flavors remind me of mulled wine; except instead of wine, it’s chocolate. It’s unexpected! It’s absolutely delicious!

I sampled while watching 🎥 “Christmas Quest” set in Iceland. Starring & it combined mystery, mythology, adventure, travel, & romance! ❤️🙌🏻👏🏻

Yay! My chocolates arrived today!!! 🍫

For the first time, some weeks back I invested in a Kickstarter campaign. It was by Open Book Chocolates.

I love how they combine a passion for literature and chocolates with unique flavor profiles.

I was so excited to try their new flavors based on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein! Ignore the highly inaccurate movies and read the book!

Also, I was curious to try the other new flavor Jolabokaflod! Jolabokaflod, which translates to “Yule book flood”, is an Icelandic tradition where people exchange books as gifts on Christmas Eve and then read them together straight away, often while drinking hot chocolate or alcohol-free Christmas ale called jólabland.

Another gift I received for investing is a little book pouch which reads “Read Books, Eat Chocolates”.

I had a wonderful time at the Annapolis Chocolate Binge Festival! It is aptly named because that’s exactly what I did!

Potomac Chocolates 🍫
Rich, smooth Dominican dark chocolate, deeper flavor in Toasted White and a little Spice, Spice Baby


Jinji Chocolates
The BEST hot chocolate ever! The flavor is so incredibly rich and decadent!
I tried there hibiscus white chocolate bar and it had a vibrant flavor


River Sea Chocolates 🍫
I haven’t tried their cherry blossom dark chocolate yet but their simple dark chocolate was good so I took a risk and bought it without trying it.


I enjoyed listening to some holiday music performed by local music group Guava Jelly.


It was a day filled with sweets, music and delights! It was the perfect ending to the holiday weekend!
