The Zipper is based in Columbia, MO and was founded in 2022 by three local women who share a passion for creative expression, live music, and human connection. The Zipper festival was designed to both celebrate our community and create a space for people to connect through art, music, food and drinks, and innovation. across mid-Missouri to experience unique art installations, explore the talents of local artists and crafters, enjoy local food and cocktails, and meet and mingle with neighbors.

Saturday will be BUSY! As you plan you transportation to the Zipper Fest, consider biking or walking if you're able. Columbia's public transit system has buses running from 10-6:40pm on Saturday. If those options don't work, consider carpooling with your friends. If you do decide to drive, please respect the local businesses and find street parking rather than using their lots. We appreciate everyone helping to make the Zipper Festival a success!

ENTERTAINMENT: Brit and Ava discovered their love for aerial arts in middle school and have been hooked ever since. Now beginning their first year of college at Mizzou, they continue to grow not only as aerialists, but also as individuals, and have started their business Aurora Aerial Arts, to reach new heights. The Zipper Fest Passports designed by are back this year. Travel around the festival, engage, and get your passport stamped for a chance to win an awesome baskets filled with Columbia's best goodies. Some of our Zipper artists contributed to the basket so stay tuned for a preview of what you could win.

Passports are $5 and only available for purchase at the festival between 1pm and 6pm. Once you get your passport stamped, turn in your passport where you purchased it and you'll be entered to win. Winners will be announced at the end of the festival 7pm but you don't need to be present to win. On Friday, we'll post a preview of the basket!

ENTERTAINMENT: Don't miss Shaun Bryan, Street Juggler, performing from 5:30-6:30pm. Shaun has been juggling since age 12 where he was a member of his local juggling club. He developed his skills throughout middle and high school where he performed at several birthday parties and talent shows Now he strives to introduce the art of juggling to a new crop of enthusiasts in hopes of reviving the local community of jugglers. ENTERTAINMENT: Check out the Boone County Fire District Pipes & Drums at the Zipper Fest! Pipes & Drums is a valued, volunteer service unit operated by Boone County Fire Protection District to honor the firefighter tradition throughout central Missouri. The band culture is one of openness to all who are interested in traditional Scottish and Irish music and participating in the band. Check them out at 3pm on September 12th!

ENTERTAINMENT: Our friends are back again at the Zipper Fest. Tap and break dancing will start around 1pm. Jabberwocky opened in 2015 with the goal of offering high quality arts programming to our diverse community. Including Theatre, Dancing, and STEAM classes. Their vision is a community that supports every individual to reach their full potential in school, work and life. EVERYONE is welcomed there.
