I will be painting a canvas with acrylics in front of the Spilt Ink Gallery in St. Helens on Saturday, September 27th from 11-4. I will have my Ghost Crab and other creations with me!
Here is the story that goes with my crab:
Legend of the Warrior Ghost Crab
Long ago there lived a warrior of an ancient Pacific Coast tribe. In times of peace he harvested sea creatures from the ocean. His skills were unmatched, but his heart was dark with anger. None understood the fierce wrath that seemed to grow with each turn of the moon. One night he disappeared never to be seen again.
Mysterious sightings of a gargantuan crab with the face of a warrior on its back began to emerge. There were fortunate ones who lived to tell a tale that would make your blood run cold. They told a story of a ghostly crustacean crawling up from the ocean on the night of a Blood Moon in search of prey. After satiating its appetite with victims, it returned to the watery abyss with blood stained claws.
Some say the warrior of old is a warning to those whose anger runs deep to beware of visiting the edges of the sea on nights of the Blood Moon.
