Conversation with the founder of .me, Gio Kakhiani. Sculp.me creates miniature 3D printouts of humans and pets, located at Colts Neck NJ. FYI, don't forget to mention "Cereal" during the check out to get 20% family discount:)🐶 .
On Work Process .
First we create 3D models which are then 3D printed in sandstone material. In order to create human 3D model, individual's need to stop by at our studio and get scanned. Unlike humans, pet models can be created from photos. So pet owners can simply share couple of pictures with us via e-mail: [email protected] to get their lovely creature’s "sculpies." As of now we’re the only ones doing this service in central NJ area, soon planning to expand all over NJ and more!
On Biggest Challenges
To me the biggest challenge is doing business alone. It is extremely hard doing things without a partner. And it’s not only about the volume of work I have to do. I think it’s more about emotional and spiritual balance. You need someone who stands by you and affirms your decisions. If something’s not going right you want to see your partner be there for you. Partners are also motivated by not wanting to let each other down. This is one of the things that keeps them to push forward and reach desired end-goals.
On Momentum
Every time a customer places an order I feel I’m on the right track. It’s not about the money it’s about demand. If someone buys your product it means you provided the value.
Usually I deliver local orders myself to meet the customers and seeing them excited is something that words cannot fully express. That’s when I feel proud and feel confidence boost up through the roof.
Final Advice? .
There’s one thing about entrepreneurship that everyone should ingrain: To learn to push forward when you’re extremely demotivated. I think that’s what entrepreneurship is all about. If you’re fired up and excited you can always be productive. So you should learn to be productive and inspiring when you’re demoralized. And believe up's and down's will always be part of your journey as an entrepreneur, so learn to work with them.
