She took an Intro to Cutting class (which are private classes by default), and curved it out if the park!!! 😃

You might say intro classes are for chumps, BUT I promise you it is super helpful to get back to the basics. Oh and if you say that, I’ll kick your glass.

Trying new tools. Getting comfortable with them, but finding your favorite. Hearing the glass. Trusting yourself. Becoming one with the glass. Eat the glass… WAIT, NOT THAT PART!

Anywho, it always makes me so happy to see when someone realizes their potential has been there the whole time.

Notice something new at the Student Pickup?

Take a moment to stop and appreciate the newly-installed “Four Seasons” mosaic window created by Ceci Horne!
Ceci brought this frame into Full Spectrum before they closed wanting to make this project. Her original idea wasn’t supported at the time, but… well, Full Spectrum closed. And Ceci eventually came into The Glass Collective and brought her idea up to me. I’m a huge supporter of letting people do their art their way!

Ceci’s dedication to finish this window was amazing! She pumped the brakes for awhile to deal with hand surgery, but was able to come back and see it through. I wanted to choose a place this window would receive attention, but also somewhere where viewers could fully appreciate it. Couple hinges later, and BOOM!

Next time you’re in, feel free to “open” this window and let it transport you across all Four Seasons that Colorado has to offer.
PLEASE handle carefully. Ask for assistance if you don’t feel comfortable moving it. Thanks!

Most of you don’t get to see what goes on behind the scenes. Literally even just behind the fusing/retail areas to the kiln area. These three white shelves are a huge step forward toward organizing all kinds of kiln things.

The bones of The Glass Collective are almost in place. Think of it like a series of major surgeries to fix the body before going in for another series of major cosmetic surgeries. We’re just about done with that first round. And then, the beautification comes. The organization, and the signage, and the prettiness (which sadly won’t just be my face plastered everywhere).

It’s been a long year, but this community has really come together to help transform the store from night to day. I’m looking forward to sharing the final vision with everyone.

When I tell you that her work is AMAZING!!! Such gorgeous attention to detail.

Yesterday’s classes were a blast! I was able help a regular customer fine tune his skills, AND I was able to squeeze a birthday experience in last minute.

So happy seeing people do stained glass, whether it’s for the first time or their thousandth.

She’s worked in glass for over 26 years and it is a source of never-ending learning and joy. She hopes that she can create something of beauty for you.
