Philharmonic Brass Quintet Rocks Cripple Creek! 🎺✨

The Colorado Springs Philharmonic and the Center for Future Audiences headed up to Cripple Creek-Victor Junior/Senior High School for an unforgettable day of music and mentorship!

A brass quintet of musicians from the Philharmonic—Don Williams, James Liverman, Michael Yopp, Jeremy Van Hoy, and Charlie Ortega—spent the morning working closely with the school's band students. From teaching techniques on breathing and warm-ups to a candid Q&A about what it’s really like to make a career out of music, the students got an all-access look at life as a professional musician.

The highlight? A morning performance that had the entire school gym buzzing with swing and jazz-inspired tunes! 🎷

The Force was strong at the Pikes Peak Center this past weekend! 🌌✨

We closed out our POPS season with two sold-out performances of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Live in Concert. From the first notes of the "Imperial March" to the final credits, the energy from the Colorado Springs Philharmonic was absolutely galactic.

But the adventure started way before the baton dropped!
📸 Patrons took photos with the Mountain Garrison - 501st Legion, including Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, and even Obi-Wan Kenobi.
⚡ The Center for Future Audiences table was buzzing as kids used "the Force" (a.k.a. static electricity) to levitate objects and decode secret Rebel Alliance messages.
🔭 On Friday night, our friends from the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society were outside with telescopes, letting us gaze at the stars and planets that inspired the films!

It was an incredible weekend for fans of all ages. If you missed it—or just want to relive the magic—check out our full recap on the Journal!

The American Soundtrack festival shines a spotlight on two titans of American music. Leonard Bernstein’s Candide Overture dazzles, while George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess delivers songs that have become part of our cultural DNA. This is the music of a nation finding its voice — bold, soulful, and unforgettable. 🎻🎶
