The incandescent GerRee Hinshaw returns to Theatreworks to direct the final title in our 2026-2027 season: The Garbologists.

GerRee brought her magic to Theatreworks with Dream Hou$e last season, but her work as a director, writer, and actor has been seen across Colorado, from Curious Theater Company in Denver to Local Theater Company in Boulder, and beyond, including here in the Springs. Her warm, joyful artistic sense lends itself perfectly to The Garbologists, a comedy of unlikely friendship, and unexpected discoveries.

UP NEXT: The Garbologists by Lindsay Joelle

What better way to end our 50th season than with a heartfelt, hilarious tale of unexpected treasures and unlikely friends? Danny is a white, blue-collar, born-and-bred New Yorker. Marlowe is Black, Ivy-League-educated, and just joined the sanitation department. They’ve got one thing in common: the route. Over the course of countless trash pickups, this odd couple bickers, bonds, and uncovers surprising truths about themselves—and the city they serve.

Visit EntArts.org to get tickets for the show, running June 11 through June 28!

Theatreworks is lucky to share the Ent Center with other artistic partners, like the UCCS Theatre and Dance program, which means we often get to work with students and early career artists like Jamie DeGeorge Garvoux and Josh White, who play Balthasar and Paris in Romeo and Juliet.

Jamie has previously worked on multiple UCCS productions, including Men on Boats, Blithe Spirit, and Macbeth. Jamie has also had many opportunities to work backstage as a props designer, an assistant stage manager, and a sound designer while pursuing her degree in Theatre at UCCS.

Josh has appeared in UCCS productions like Macbeth, Marie Antoinette, and Antigone. He's also sone some directing in his time at UCCS on Dexter Lake Club, and Back Story.

In addition to appearing in R&J, Jamie and Josh have both also joined us as Directing Observers on Theatreworks productions this season.

Visit EntArts.org to get tickets to the last weekend of performances. P.S. UCCS students always attend Theatreworks shows for free!

While "choreography" may not be the first word you think of in association with Shakespeare, Rosely Conz's exquisite dance sequences bring an evocative layer of storytelling to Romeo and Juliet.

Rosely, a Brazilian dancer, and screendance-maker, has been an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dance at UCCS since August 2022. This show marks her first collaboration with Theatreworks. As a global artist, her creative work has been exhibited in the UK, Mexico, Barbados, Sweden, South Africa, and many states in the USA.

Go to EntArts.org to get tickets for the final weekend of Romeo and Juliet performances to see just how Rosely's beautiful choreography elevates the show.

Marcin Mesa joins Theatreworks again as the hot-tempered Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet.

Our audiences may remember Marcin from his Theatreworks debut as Peter from last season's Silent Sky. His other stage credits include Ironbound (Maks) at Kitchen Theatre (Ithaca, NY), Twelfth Night (Sebastian) at The Secret Theatre (Queens, NY), and Tape (Jon) at Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (New York, NY). We're delighted to have him back with us, and we know you'll love the fire he brings to the role of Tybalt.

He's also appeared at the Old Globe in San Diego, Off Square Theatre in Jackson Hole, and other companies across the country.

Beautiful, evocative lighting transforms the world of Romeo and Juliet, and we owe these stunning visuals to the creative eye of lighting designer Vance McKenzie!

Vance most recently joined Theatreworks for The Heart Sellers, but longtime subscribers may remember his work on Detroit as well, and supporters of the UCCS theatre program may have seen his work on the student production of Indecent a couple seasons ago. As both a freelance lighting designer and the resident lighting designer at Miners Alley Performing Arts Center, Vance's work appears up and down the Pikes Peak Region. Some recent designs include Assassins (Miners Alley), True West (Thunder River), On Your Feet! (Town Hall Arts Center), Bright Star (Candlelight), and Every Brilliant Thing (Little Theatre of the Rockies).

Visit EntArts.org to get tickets for the last two weekends of Romeo and Juliet!
