I know this is my hair page but there’s so much more to me than hair.
I’ve been told over and over that I am “too much, too intense, too passionate.” Because everything I do, I put all of me into it. From my career, to being a wife and mother, a friend, an artist, a teacher, a student.

I no longer carry those projections as a burden, I embody them shamelessly.

I got so wrapped up in fear and let the persona of solely being a hair stylist, that I didn’t give myself permission to share other parts of me that are so vital to who I am. My connection to music and art.

Fun fact: I got my cosmetology license while I was in highschool, so that I could support myself through music school. I started majoring in music education in 2017 and after one semester, my now husband swept me off my feet and we made a huge life change that lead us to Colorado. I haven’t returned to school but still dream about it every now and then.

Since then, I’ve gone back and forth with who I want to be, what I want to do, who I want to become. But the answer has really been in front of me the whole time.

I just want to be ME.

Lately, I’ve been living by these words.

DO IT SCARED.

So here’s another part of me the outside world hasn’t really seen.

I wrote this short song some time ago and haven’t quite finished it to finality but I have reminded myself that sometimes you have to just put it out there anyway.

This song tells a story, whatever one you see or feel is exactly the right one.
