The Pikes Peak Home School Music Program (PPHSMP)was founded by Bill Callen (deceased) in 2000. It has grown immensely since, and is the only homes school band, orchestra and choir program of it's kind in Colorado. The PPHSMP allows students ages 9 through high school to perfect a wind or string instrument in a non-competitive, classroom-like setting. There are four bands - a beginning band, inter
mediate band for students who have played at least one year, and two advanced bands. Additionally, there are three string orchestra ensembles - a beginning, intermediate, and advance orchestra program. In 2022 choir instruction was initiated into the program. All instruments are taught, and most students play in multiple bands on different instruments, which is a luxury most music programs do not allow.
