Chris Loud Art I'm a self-taught artist with a vibrant approach to abstract painting and mixed-media art.

At the beginning of 2020, I started painting with acrylics after being inspired by the artwork and artists I encountered at local galleries. I've rapidly developed a distinctive style that stands out for its dynamic use of color and texture. Drawing inspiration from the mundane to the magnificent, I look for the extraordinary in everyday items and scenes, transforming them into captivating pieces

of art. With a foundation deeply rooted in acrylics and a penchant for incorporating various materials, my work transcends traditional boundaries, inviting viewers into a world where color, form, and texture interplay in unexpected ways. My art is characterized by a spontaneous, intuitive process that prioritizes exploration and experimentation. This approach results in works that are visually stimulating and rich in emotion and depth. My artistic philosophy centers around the joy of creation and the freedom to explore. I believe that art should be accessible to all and encourage a playful, open-minded approach to making art. My work focuses on the intuitive power of creativity and the endless possibilities that arise when one is willing to experiment and take risks. Whether it's through the abstract landscapes I conjure with a brush or the complex layers of his mixed media compositions, my art invites us to see the world through a lens of wonder and imagination. I want my art to represent the beauty that can be found in the imperfections and chaos, but also in the order of our everyday lives.

One of my favorite parts of traveling is collecting inspiration.

I rarely paint these places literally, but the colors, textures, shapes and light almost always find their way into future paintings.

The American Southwest has a way of reminding me why I love making.

Quick torn paper flowers.

Every once in a while I like to put the brushes down and see what happens with nothing more than painted paper, scissors (or just my hands), and a little imagination.

I love how tearing paper creates shapes I'd probably never paint on purpose. Each arrangement ended up with its own personality, and that's part of the fun—starting with scraps and seeing where they lead.
