First Speaker of the 2026-2027 season announced is Mr. Jeremy Wayne Tate.

"Jeremy is the founder and CEO of the Classical Learning Test (CLT), a nationally recognized alternative to the SAT/ACT. Mr. Tate is widely regarded as a leader in the revival of classical education, advocating for an educational model rooted in truth, goodness, beauty, and the great works of Western civilization. The Classic Learning Test (CLT) aims to help restore this vision through the evaluation of knowledge and virtue. As the old testing standards are no longer strong predictors of college success, the CLT has grown in interest and use among K-12 schools and higher institutions. To date, over 350 colleges and universities across the United States and abroad, including all U.S. Military Service Academies and 6 state university systems (AR, FL, GA, IN, NC, & TX), recognize the value of the CLT, and the excellence of CLT and CLT10 test takers. Differences in the CLT testing standards include not allowing students to use a calculator.

A graduate of Louisiana State University and Reformed Theological Seminary, Mr. Tate previously served as a college counselor before launching CLT in 2015. He lives in Annapolis, Maryland, with his wife and six children."

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Friends of the Winter Night Club,

We are excited to kick off another Winter Night Club season filled with engaging social events, new opportunities to connect, and plenty of reasons to celebrate our wonderful community. Whether you are a longtime member or joining us for your first season, we hope you will take advantage of the many opportunities to meet new people, reconnect with friends, and create lasting memories. I am excited to announce our upcoming dinner season event dates: 29 Sept 26, 13 Oct 26, 14 Jan 27, 11 Feb 27, and 4 Mar 27 at the Broadmoor Resort Main Ballroom. We are also excited to include a Mardi Gras themed fundraising event to the schedule this season.

As we celebrate the 125th season of the WNC, it is a wonderful time to reflect on the rich history and traditions that have shaped our club. From its founding in the late 1800s, our club was built on a simple but meaningful vision: to bring people together during the winter months through friendship, shared interests, and a spirit of community with selected guest speakers, and we are continuing that tradition with an amazing line up of speakers this season.

Your individual membership covers all four speaker events and includes a three-course dinner. We also welcome corporate memberships. And, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your contributions are tax deductible.

Honoring the tradition established by early Colorado Springs pioneers including General William Jackson Palmer, Charles L. Tutt, Sr., William S. Jackson and Eugene Shove, our current board of directors would be honored to have the pleasure of your company for the upcoming Winter Night Club 2026-27 season of thoughtful conversation. We are looking forward to you joining us.

In fellowship,

Roland Rainey, Jr.

President

Winter Night Club Board of Directors

"The March 26, 2026 program will feature Colin Woodall, CEO of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. The theme of the evening will honor Colorado’s rich ranching cattle heritage. As we will be meeting in the historic Broadmoor surrounded by Western art and sculpture, evening western attire is encouraged.
Colin Woodall is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and leads the country’s oldest and largest national trade association for cattle producers in being the trusted voice and definitive leader of the beef industry.

Originally from Big Spring, Texas, Colin graduated from Texas A&M and then worked as a grain elevator manager and merchandiser for Cargill at several locations in western Kansas and the Oklahoma panhandle. After venturing to Washington, Colin took a job with U.S. Senator John Cornyn from Texas. He has been with NCBA since 2004 and served as the association’s Chief Lobbyist in Washington, D.C., for a decade. He is a founding member of the Government Relations Leadership Forum, a life member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, member of the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association, the Agribusiness Club of Washington, D.C., the Washington Agricultural Roundtable, and is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Agriculture Council of America. He also volunteers as a junior commercial steer show judge at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition."
