That is one of the most significant manufacturing differences between BMC thermoset compression molding and traditional RTM construction.

Depending on component size, MDM’s BMC components can move from raw material to a finished mold-to-net part in as little as 10–30 minutes. RTM components may require approximately 24 hours of cure time before additional operations begin.

And curing is only part of the process. RTM parts may still require routing, trimming, drilling, CNC machining, and other finishing steps before final assembly.

Reducing those steps helps support shorter production cycles, greater repeatability, and faster component availability.
