A huge thank you to our amazing dance mentor, Eric Solano, for teaching at our workshops this past weekend! We also appreciate our friends Yen, Alvaro, and Levin for traveling from Utah to be with us. Shoutout to Kimmy, Matet, Malou, and Emily from Denver for attending to dance with us. We’re also grateful for Loida attending our workshops for the first time.

Thanks to Ate Maddie for your ongoing support and Auntie Alice for your generous donation to HK. We're grateful to the Palalay family and HK family for hosting and providing lunch. Most of all, thank you to our HK family for coming together to create commUNITY and appreciating living traditions of our culture bearers. Maraming salamat!

We want to give a big Salamat to everyone who came out to attend our workshops this past weekend. Our HK pamilya had the chance to learn about the living traditions of the T’boli, Maguidanaon, Tausug, and Sama from our dance mentor, Eric Solano. Thank you our culture bearers, Sir Faisal, Yebong Lyn, Boi Rosie Sula, Auntie Lingling, and Ate Nursida for sharing your knowledge and traditions.

We’re thrilled to welcome our dance mentor Eric Solano, Artistic Director of Parangal, for a special two-day Philippine dance workshop in Colorado Springs, hosted by Hawak Kamay Dance Company.

Thank you so much to for inviting Hawak Kamay Dance Company to perform for your Holiday Cultural Festival. It was HK’s first time performing for the community in Southern Colorado. We’re looking forward to the next cultural festival.

El Pueblo History Museum showcases the region’s many cultural and ethnic groups through innovative exhibits.
The property also includes a re-created 1840s adobe trading post and plaza, and the archaeological excavation site of the original 1842 El Pueblo trading post.
