So I wanted to try my hand at Impressionism (I think that’s what this would be). It’s way different than how I’m used to painting. But overall, I think it turned out okay. I do wish i made the flower a little smaller though… 😅

I love drawing these portraits and it brings my heart so much joy when my clients tell me the joy these portraits bring to them or the people they give them to. I’m trying to find the strength to be able to draw or paint my babies who passed. Alex; my first dog, he was the goofiest boy with the biggest heart, he was with me through almost all of my most important milestones. He passed away at 13.5 years old.
Dakota: she was my first puppy. Weaned off her mom and taken from her litter mates way too early, she imprinted on me. She taught me so much about dogs and patience than I ever thought I could know. I miss my babies everyday. 🌈

I’ve been trying to take real lunch breaks and use that time to do some daily sketching. I’ve been drawing flowers in . Most of my daily sketches are quick and rough, but it has reawakened my love and hate for ballpoint. So in addition to my sketches, I also started a more detailed ballpoint drawing of an iris.
