This is an example of how hiring just anyone who says they can hang wallpaper can backfire on you and your expensive wallpaper. Especially for natural textiles such as this precision, pretrimmed basketweave wallpaper with a half inch repeat. The manufacturer instructions were not clear how to best install their product. We typically table trim or double cut most naturals to create the best look but I was a little hesitant at first with this particular wallpaper due to the nature of the material. I understand how it can be tempting to just butt join pretrimmed wallpaper as-is, it is the easiest way to install and in this case, the manufacturer stated that the seams would be visible. A potential out for me if the client was unhappy with the results. So I tried it the easy way, butt joined the first 2 sheets, as seen on the right. Unacceptable. My seam is on the left. Added about 2 extra hours of work. Nancy and I have very high standards on ALL of our installations. If we couldn't live with it, we don't expect you to either.
