Okay, okay…we know we’ve been a little quiet lately. 👀😅

We’ve been heads-down working to button up some major projects behind the scenes (the kind that involve broken pencil lead, too much coffee, and the occasional “What day is it?” moment ☕✏️😂). But we couldn’t resist sharing one of the incredible things we got to be part of recently!

A few weeks ago, we had the honor of joining the Nerd Culture Ministry Summit at the breathtaking Glen Eyrie Castle here in Colorado Springs. 🏰🐉✨

What an amazing event!

We connected with so many incredible people from across nerd culture—artists, creators, gamers, storytellers, and ministry leaders—who are using the things they love to help others live out their faith in authentic and meaningful ways. Honestly, it was wildly inspiring. 🙌🎮📚

And of course… we couldn’t show up without getting a little creative.

Big Chris painted an absolutely EPIC dragon live at the event, and we were thrilled to auction it off to .susty ! 🐉🔥 Congratulations, Cole! We’re so excited that this beast found such a great home.

To everyone we met at the summit: thank you for the conversations, the encouragement, and the reminder that God can use every passion—even our nerdy ones—for His glory.

We had an absolute blast, and we’re already counting down the days until next year. ❤️⚔️✨

This painting is finished now.
But the process behind it will live on for a while.

Layer by layer, moment by moment, it became more than art — it became reflection and a prayer. It’s a reminder that Jesus meets us in the middle of the process, in all of the unfinished places of our journey

And in the end, we’re left with a beautiful and more complete image of who He is.

This was the second part of the painting.
The slower part. The quieter part.

It requires so much patience and revision. Trusting that the image will come together even when it doesn’t feel clear in the process.

Faith often forms the same way.
Not all at once — but gradually.
Through interruptions, imperfections, and the steady shaping of what we cannot yet see.

And somehow, in the end, you begin to recognize Him.
More clearly than you thought possible.

Painting a portrait of Jesus is not a simple thing.

There were moments of clarity…and moments of frustration. Places where the lines didn’t land right or where shadows had to be reworked. A slow process that required patience.

And somewhere in the middle of it, we couldn’t help but think about faith.

The process of following Christ often feels the same.
Not instant. Not effortless. Full of hiccups, doubts, revisions, and quiet perseverance.

We want the finished picture immediately, but God often works in deeper layers.

And then, gradually, something begins to emerge. And in the end, we find ourselves seeing Him more clearly than we thought possible.

Maybe that’s the gift, that through the struggle, through the slow shaping, we are given a glimpse of the face of Jesus…and we are changed by it.

Proof that this painting didn’t magically appear overnight. 😜

These photos capture the in-between moments of this project — paint on hands, awkward angles, and a whole lot of quiet prayer happening behind the scenes.

We had to stop a few times and just let this painting come to us because believe it or not, trying to create something that looks like the creator of the universe is not easy. It can feel significantly more meaningful and challenging than others — like there’s more at stake.

But every brushstroke pointed back to the same truth:
Jesus is the hope beneath it all.

There’s something pretty inspiring about creating a painting like this because it’s a process, just like our faith. Sometimes our faith journey doesn’t arrive in a single moment — it’s formed slowly, faithfully, and beautifully.

These photos tell that story.

BehindTheScenes HopeInChrist ArtWithPurpose

02/02/2026

This painting is the final chapter of the Uprooted project we worked on last week.

The lion came first — the Lion of Judah — standing over the things we long to uproot from our lives. Fear. Sin. Shame. Brokenness.
But the story was never meant to end there.

Because the Lion points to the Lamb.
And that Lamb is Jesus.

It is by His blood that we find redemption.
It is by His sacrifice that we are healed.
It is through Him alone that what is broken can finally be made whole.

This piece is a reminder that hope isn’t abstract — it has a name.
Healing isn’t earned — it was purchased.
Freedom isn’t something we achieve — it’s something we receive.

So don’t wait.
Don’t carry what He already paid for.
Put your faith in Jesus — the One who uproots sin, restores hearts, and makes all things new.

And it’s a hope that will never fail.
