The Great Commission Flag
The Great Commission Flag is a symbol of God’s Great Commission as well as the American purpose. When armies marched into battle, they took great pains to lift their flag as a symbol of unity and purpose. As a student of American history, I have read the Founding Fathers’ prayers and letters between friends and colleagues, and can feel their focus as they talked to God and wrote to each other.

In our world, we think it strange if we write our prayers, but our Founding Fathers believed in writing down what they shared with God and in their prayers. They felt compelled to impact the world with this new government founded on God’s Word. Just as Christians look to the Bible as their guidance in every situation, these servants of the American experience designed the Constitution as our guiding and governing authority.
It is clear that in the early days of America, we were impacting the world with the successes of the American experience. It is also clear that today America is the guiding light that leads to liberty. The enemies of freedom hate America, and are trying to destroy the liberties and joys that it brings.
However, we must realize that this liberty is not for our blessing alone. We have these freedoms and prosperities to take the Gospel message of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection to the world. There is life after death, and Jesus can give it to you! This is the greatest news on the planet and we have the ability to deliver it.
This Flag declares the intent of America. Jesus commissioned His disciples to take the message of the good news around the globe. American missionaries, American monies and American churches are doing this, and this flag will proclaim what our goals really are.
I heard of a Church that had closed and posted a sign, “We are out of business because we forgot what our business was.” Let America know why we are here and never forget what our business really is. God created this great nation to model freedom in Christ, and commissioned the Church to carrying God’s greatest story to every creature.
I pray that every Christian home in America will be bold and fly this flag. I pray every Church in America will fly this flag. As we come and go to our churches and homes we will be reminded that God is calling us to a greater purpose in our liberty and in our prosperity. The Great Commission is our ultimate mission as American Christians, and this flag says just that!

AMERICA! Christians in America. We love our flag. It declares these United States, Amen. But it covers all who dwell here and not just the Ecclesia, called out ones. It’s time. I was apprehended to this calling around 22 years ago. It’s NOW.

Yesterday, July 2, marked the 22nd anniversary of the flag’s image being put on paper at the Founder’s Inn in Virginia Beach. This is on campus of CBN and Regent University. Pat Robertson asked for the story to be put on TV. That happened Flag Days 2004 and 2005. There are enough testimonies as to God’s hand in this visual narrative to document a paper back book.
