Netpoets ... where Community is King Passions in Poetry was founded in 1998, as a folder on my personal site. The response was little short of phenomenal.

It was just a small collection of my own poetry, most written over the course of a lifetime. Almost as an afterthought, I invited others to send me their poems, to be published beside my own. On January 3, 1999, I moved all the poems to their own domain, netpoets.com, and to a new more powerful web server to handle the increased traffic. We continued to grow and for most of the first decade of the

21st Century, we were listed in the top 4000 busiest web sites on the Internet (according to Quantcast). To date, over 177,000,000 visitors have made netpoets.com the poetic staple of today's Internet. That's enough people to start our own country!

Passions in Poetry celebrated its 15th birthday last week and, starting today, she’ll be strutting around in the brand new clothes she received as her principal birthday gift.
