The Olde Coloma Theatre was recently granted funds, by two private donors, to be able to upgrade our sound and lighting systems here at the Theatre.

Brand new lighting elements, special effects spots, operating computer programs and the devices to run them; we're all purchased from these granted funds.

What's more, certified electricians from Carnahan Electrical, here in El Dorado County, helped connect our new lighting systems. Augmenting the Theatre's older power grid with new components as well.

Our Technical Director, Ruby Jean De Quiroz, along with our Facilities Manager Alisha Murry began the process last week. With Board Members Jesse Wattson, Rachel Wattson and Amy Weber, assisting Ruby with light connectivity and troubleshooting, this week.

A huge thank you to the tech experts at PCT in Auburn, for their assistance with lights, designs, and several "house calls!"

A true team effort! And the largest, most complete technical upgrade to our "Grande Old Lady," in decades!
Thanks to all, for an amazing new world of imagination for our Melodramas!

DETAILS:
Auditions consist of cold-reading from the Production script, for the Director and Production Team. No preparation needed. No experience required. No classes to take. No fees to pay. Just be willing to learn the art of Melodrama, and be able to attend rehearsals and shows.

Rehearsals are typically three days per week, 3 hours per night, for six weeks. With a dedicated Tech Week, before ipening.Rehearsals schedule is dependant on the actor's availability. Show run is July 24th to August 23rd (5 weeks.) Friday and Saturday evenings, at 7:30pm (call time is 5:30pm.) Sunday Matinees at 2pm (call time is Noon.)

The Olde Coloma Theatre will END our ticket sales for the 2026 Season Tickets, on Friday May 23rd, 2026!

These tickets have been "flying out the door" for the last 3 months! But, all good things must come to and end.

If you haven't purchased your season tickets yet, there's still one week left to do it.

and get your season tickets, using your debit or credit card (plus a nominal fee.) Then, pick-up your physical tickets, when the first Melodrama of Season54 opens, on Friday May 29th, at 7pm.

The season tickets are priced at $75 for Adults, and $65 for Seniors (55 and older.) The season ticket provides one ticket for each of our 4 Melodrama productions, this season. Plus a free small popcorn or drink, each time you use one of your show tickets.
