Happy Labor Day!

The water on the lake was up enough the houseboat was moved at 7:30 am! 🎉🎉🎉🎉We’re excited! They are putting walks on the sides, back porch and a roof extending out over the front porch today! WooHoo!

A Villas update…first load of lumber from the trees we took to the mill made it back on Thursday and we will attempt to move The Houseboat tomorrow morning so we can finish our porches on it….boy… water levels have been at an all time low this summer. We are having to remind ourselves over and over the phrase…Slow and Steady Wins The Race!🤦‍♀️🤣

It’s been a busy week already. A little overwhelmed at how much we need to accomplish, but it will happen. And we can’t wait to be able to share this magical place nestled on the banks of the Bouie River with everyone! A few photos from the past two days. I can’t wait to see the lumber that will be milled from the trees here on the property, all the lumber will go back into projects that are being built here.

Everyone has their own to-do list and going in different directions today. Cypress trees on the lake are being trimmed head high and all the foliage is being cut off the bottom of them while the water level is low. Late afternoon all the water pumps will go on and we will try bringing the water levels back up so the houseboat can be moved.

Clearing the river bank we found a wonderful secluded sand bar….opening up room along the river bank for a few more cabins…

We even found a Fairy House at the base of a giant Cypress Tree!🙈🤣

Our first Airbnb listing will be
“The Houseboat”….Today we started a few additions to it, it is getting a covered front porch with a few rocking chairs, a cat walk on each side of the boat to help you get to a new back porch where you can enjoy grilling out or a little fishing…boy, the bass were striking like crazy on the lake this afternoon. I want to share a few inside photos. It will be moved again down the lake once the work is completed so it will be in closer proximity to future rentals. The Houseboat will probably always be our favorite rental, it was renovated with so much love and so much thought went into it. Even though it will only accommodate 2 people it is such a romantic magical place.❤️

Everyday the peacefulness and tranquility is discovered here….We can’t wait to open.

I found a cute refurbish project at an estate sale for one of the cabins...can’t wait to get it home tomorrow to start on it. It works great but needs a little cosmetic pick me up. Hope you all don't get bored with my posts as we start putting everything together on this venture.
