There seems to be much confusion about what Hydrographics or “dipping” is. Anybody can paint a cup or something else a solid color and slap a cricut decal on it and call it Hydrodipped. Well, in all reality it’s just a painted cup with a decal on it. We can not only paint customers projects but we can also “hydrodip” their projects. This process allows for a one off piece and yours doesn’t look like the next persons that was just painted with a decal stuck on it. Let me explain the difference in paint and hydrographics.
A painted product is simply that. It’s painted. We use automotive bases and clears for maximum durability. Most, unless it is a body shop, use rattle can paints, hobby glitters, and hobby clears. While these may look great for the first couple of weeks they won’t hold up over time. Hydrographics involves a much more in depth process. First the piece is prepped, then primed, then based, next the pattern is applied or it is left alone, then decals are applied and then a clear coat is applied. The end result is a much more durable product. So for any of your customization needs wouldn’t you rather deal with someone that has been in the industry for six years or someone painting on their front porch? The attached picture is of a finished cup that is 4 years old and is used daily.
