Happy Father’s Day to me. I woke up this morning and thought about what that meant and I thought I should share. As an empty nest father I reflect on the many aspects of having been an active father. First thing I think of is how blessed I have been with all of the life filled memories. From being the first to hold and caring them to watching them today. So many wonderful memories chasing them around the living room table, holding them up in church so they could see the pastor, fishing, working, dress shopping, VOLLEYBALL, and so many more.
I am also aware of the big mistakes I made as a parent. Girls will let you know when you make mistakes and listening to them helped make me a better man and father.
I am very grateful for God’s blessing of two beautiful, loving, kind, smart, wise, determined, forces of nature daughters. They fill my live with joy to see the wonderful woman they have become. Strong Christian women who take on life’s challenges head on and grow stronger from every experience. I dreamed of having children like them but in the back of my mind I didn’t think it would happen.
Thanks to the Lord for his blessing and I pray that every father takes the chance to enjoy the blessing of their children.
