Studio A at UMD

At Studio A, we are passionate about creativity and expression. In addition, the ALC offers multiple workshops throughout the year and fun events.

We share this passion by offering affordable non-credit studio classes in photography, ceramics, drawing, painting, self-development, music, and dance. The Art and Learning Center offers non-credit studio classes in photography, ceramics, drawing, painting, self-development, music and dance. The Art and Learning Center is passionate about creativity and expression! We welcome EVERYONE and believe

together we can use our imaginations and creativity to do some pretty AWESOME things! All classes are open to students, staff, and the public and run during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Registration starts at the beginning of each semester.

Join us for a walk-in session solely dedicated to pulling to get a feel of printing with pre-made designs. Participants will take away with them final prints on either paper or fabric, as well as the basic knowledge to keep their creative adventure going. Previous attendance at the first workshop is not required.

Forge your legend. Build your miniature. Enter the battle. ⚔️

“One-Shot Miniatures: Forge and Fight” digital design class is here for Spring 2026 at Studio A! Over 10 weeks, you’ll design, sculpt, and 3D print your own custom tabletop miniature using Nomad Sculpt and high-detail resin printing, then bring it to life with post-processing and painting. The journey ends with a collaborative one-shot tabletop campaign where your creation takes the stage.
