🪶Today feels like a full circle moment, I’m in Japan on Indigenous Peoples day..and my grandpa was stationed in Japan (Okinawa) and lived here for two years. When we were kids, he taught us how to count 1-10 in Japanese, and I when my kids were little, I taught them too lol! 🎎 And now I understand why he loved Japan so much and why he would try to teach us Japanese as kids lol!😆
I also learned the craft of drawing and painting from him, and we’re both left-handed too 😅🙏🏽😌🎨
Im extremely grateful reflecting on what I’ve learned and all the sacrifices made by my grandpa and of our elders who made sacrifices with such a generous and courageous heart.. May we be like them and carry on the beautiful legacies passed to us and pass them on to our children!!🙌🏽💯 HAPPY INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY🙏🏽🪶
