We're back from touring the French antique flea markets, and are unpacking over a dozen Impressionist oil paintings acquired for the gallery! The Carrie James Gallery will be on vacation for the first half of August, re-opening on Thursday, August 20. Each year, we take advantage of these slow summer weeks and sneak in a vacation to recharge and prepare the gallery for the upcoming start of school season. This year, our recharge also includes dedicated time to visit some of Europe's best known flea markets to acquire new art for our "Old Masters" gallery collection. Collectors of David's paintings often feel great nostalgia towards the works, sharing they are reminiscent of their childhood kaleidoscopes or family game boards (Chinese checkers, backgammon, etc.).
