The Insiders bring the ultimate Heartbreakers tribute to life with six seasoned pros and a whole lot of heart. Frontman Max Lockwood grew up on Petty’s music, mimicking every lyric and chord. What started as a childhood obsession became a full-blown tribute after Petty’s passing in 2017. One benefit concert turned into a band, and now The Insiders are honoring the legend night after night—with passion, precision and sold-out shows.

Tibbits Opera House is proud to be part of the beautiful Coldwater community!

🎭 Can we all take a moment to appreciate the beauty of Opera House ? This gem, built in 1882, is especially worth celebrating during Historic Preservation Month.

From their facade restoration in 2013 to their continued commitment to preserving and restoring this historic treasure, Tibbits remains an important part of the community and visitor experience alike.

Today, Tibbits hosts community events, concerts, and - our personal favorite (though we may be a little biased since our new Exec Director will be in one! 😉 ) - Tibbits Summer Theatre, a major tourism draw for the region.

☀ Registration is open for our Puppet Workshop, hosted by Clovis Bordeaux, a 2024 NATAS Emmy-Nominated producer and puppeteer from Felt Bros. Industries!

The July 24 session will focus on puppeteering basics using a 3D printed eye puppet and will be for ages 7-13. The July 25 session for ages 14-17 will focus on the creation of your own puppet character from a pre-constructed base model. Registration is available at tibbits.org! Spots are limited!

Tibbits Opera House received new stage lights as part of a project funded by Michigan Arts and Culture Council with matching funds from Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary and The Coldwater Noon Club. The theatre was also able to order a new SawStop table saw for the scene shop, a critical piece for the safety of summer staff as they build the sets and scenery for the season.

Registration for our Kids Theatre Workshop ends June 5 and scholarship applications are due May 29! Students interested in all aspects of theatre, both on and off stage, are encouraged to apply for one or both workshop sessions.
