What happens when flowers respond to art?
Flower Workshop, Saturday, September 26, 11 AM–2 PM

Join floral designer and Art in Flower author Lindsey Taylor for a hands-on workshop exploring the dialogue between art and flowers.

Drawing inspiration from works on view at Magazzino and our campus surrounding flora, participants will explore color, texture, form, and movement before creating their own floral arrangement to take home.

Art in Flower will also be available for purchase and signed by the author.

Tickets include welcome coffee, fresh flowers, all supplies, and a ceramic vase.
Space is limited. Reserve your spot at the link in bio.

What a fantastic way to close the summer.

A full house, a perfect evening in the garden, golden light, and the joyful sounds of violinist Daisy Jopling brought Magazzino’s summer events to a memorable close.

Guests gathered around our Italian buffet, enjoying the beauty of the garden before Daisy filled the evening with her contagious energy, revisiting beloved Italian classics and bringing them to life in her own unforgettable way.

From movies al fresco and long, hot summer nights to stormy afternoons that became part of the adventure, this summer has been filled with music, food, cinema, art, and—most importantly—community.

To everyone who joined us, supported us, returned throughout the season, or discovered Magazzino for the very first time: grazie. And a heartfelt thank you to all the people and staff behind the scenes who made these wonderful evenings possible.

We’ll carry these memories with us as we look ahead to next summer. A presto!

A burst of energy, music, and pure joy! For our End of Summer Concert, violinist Daisy Jopling swept into the courtyard with her contagious enthusiasm and electrifying performance, bringing Italian composers and Italian-inspired music to life—and delighting every guest along the way. What a joyful way to celebrate the end of summer.

A taste of Italy in the Hudson Valley

Chefs Luca Galli and Vitto Gnazzo were proud to represent Magazzino Italian Art at a special culinary gathering at Glynwood Farms, bringing a beloved Italian classic to the table: pasta e fagioli.

Prepared with care, tradition, and the finest ingredients, this comforting dish delighted guests and reminded us how food—just like art—has the power to bring people together.

Grazie to Glynwood Farms for bringing together such a wonderful community around food, culture, and the land.

A great man has left us.

Giancarlo Olgiati was, first and foremost, a friend. An older brother whom I already miss deeply. He was a true and sincere friend—one of those extraordinary people one rarely meets in life. Giancarlo, like Gianni and Germano, was truly one of a kind. He was a liberal—like me—and this bond united us from the very first day we met in Valencia, at the Christian Stein retrospective at the IVAM.

When we first met, we didn't talk about art, but about food and w**e—a passion we always shared. He knew everything about w**e: from the w**es of Burgundy and Bordeaux to the great w**es of Piedmont, Tuscany, Sicily, and Spain, and even those of the New World. Yet, his true passion was art. He was a distinctive collector with very clear ideas; true to his liberal spirit, he felt—and always was—deeply free in his choices. In short, he was an independent spirit: he did not follow the fads or trends of the moment, and he kept his distance from those who did. He knew how to look at a work of art and how to make a choice. He knew how to observe works, and he would often tell me: "You look at works of art with your eyes, but you feel them with your gut." He was rarely wrong, yet he knew how to acknowledge his own mistakes—a rarity that only the truly great can afford. Although he was always interested in the avant-garde movements that preceded us, he always looked to the future, closely following young artists and contemporary movements.

I always felt a deep bond with Giancarlo, not only because of our shared love of art but also because we could both count on the love and passion of two extraordinary women—our partners in life and on our journey: Danna for Giancarlo and Nancy for me.

I am deeply saddened by your passing, dear friend. I owe you a great deal and feel like a lucky man—lucky to have met you and to have shared the world of art with you.

Give my regards to Gianni and Germano.
Giorgio

That’s a wrap on Cinema in Piazza 2026!

What a beautiful finale to our summer movie evenings at Magazzino. Thank you to everyone who joined us for two unforgettable nights of incredible films, delicious food, music, and even better company.

We began the afternoon with Novanta Secondi pizza fresh from the truck. Soon after, our new popcorn station opened in the courtyard—adding a little extra movie-night magic to Magazzino as guests settled in for the evening.

On the second night the rain only added to the atmosphere and proved that a little rain can’t stop a great Italian night! Under umbrellas and with smiles all around, guests enjoyed a wonderful Italian aperitivo, turning the weather into part of the evening’s charm.
