The Daedalus Quartet is excited to announce the appointment of Angela Park - 박진영, cellist, joining violinists Min-Young Kim and Matilda Kaul and violist Jessica Thompson. Angela made her official debut with the ensemble on July 19 at Music Mountain in Falls Village, CT.

We are grateful to Tom Kraines for 14 fulfilling years of playing together, and thank him for being a driving force behind many of our most rewarding and innovative projects. We wish him all the best as he embarks on the next chapter of his career.

About Angela Park - 박진영:

Active as a soloist and chamber musician, Angela Park has performed throughout North and South America, Europe, and East Asia and is prizewinner at multiple international competitions. She has performed as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) Orchestra, and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, and as a chamber musician, has appeared at the Marlboro, Ravinia, and Verbier Festivals and has performed with Leonidas Kavakos, Miriam Fried, Peter Wiley, Bruno Canino, Kim Kashkashian, and Myung-whun Chung.

Angela studied at the Curtis Institute of Music, New England Conservatory, and the Universität der Künste Berlin, and baroque cello at the Hochschule für Musik Frankfurt. She currently serves on the cello and chamber music faculty at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Music in Pittsburgh. www.angela-park.com

Very sad to hear of Dame Felicity Lott’s passing; an operatic force of nature, with whom I had the great pleasure of working in my (very) early days as an artist driver with The Cleveland Orchestra. She will be greatly missed 💔

Tall and self-possessed, with an air of wit and sophistication, she was superb in works by Mozart and Strauss, and was also a wide-ranging recitalist.
