There was never a question that Rick Homan would be a part of Saints & Poets when we started all of this in 2010. What was perhaps unexpected was that he would become so very integral to the whole thing. On the rare occasion that he couldn’t be in a production, the experience of making a show was less than it could have been for his absence.

Over nine productions, Rick frequently demonstrated his known abilities to be funny, silly, and musical. But there were also moments on stage where he showed great warmth, vulnerability, and pathos. He was all of these things off stage, too.

When Saints & Poets decides to dust off the puppets and get back to it, there will be something not quite the same as it was. Our company is better for having had Rick as a member and we are better for having known Rick as a friend. Rest well, Homan.

Yesterday we left our puppets at home and visited Shelburne Museum's Puppet's: World on a String exhibition. We saw some saw some original puppets created by Jane & Jim Henson and some beautiful work from closer to home by Puppetkabob! We also attempted our own improvised show for a very special audience of one. You have until June 3rd to check out the exhibit for yourself.
