“Into The Storm”
Gouache, Colored Pencil

This year was a very tough year. I’m sure many of you resonate with that! It’s a known metaphor that Buffalo run into the storm instead of away from it. By facing the storm head on the buffalo spends less time being uncomfortable. I felt like this theme captured what I had to face this year so I thought why not illustrate that for the 2025 Christmas Card. This year marks a decade of doing these cards so I felt pressure to outdo myself from previous years. I know it’s not the typical winter scene but I enjoy the message behind it and hope I can inspire you to go boldly into 2026!

Hi!

For the time being I have deactivated my website subscription. It’s a luxury I can’t justify the cost of currently. I will be paying to keep my domain to reactivate my website some day and will continue art as normal. You will see my work and available pieces listed here and on Instagram.

I keep getting questions about another calendar and you all will be happy to know that I have one in the works. It might be an odd one that starts into 2026 and goes to 2027 because with the way this year is going it’s simply not possible for me to get one done before 2026 and I want it to be better than this years and give myself time to make a Christmas card!

I’ve been making a point to use up small pieces of my premium watercolor paper I have collected during various projects. My goal has been to let loose and paint whatever comes to mind! Both of these framed paintings are available on my website (link in Bio and I will also post direct links in my story)! I had so much fun painting these and creating custom frames for them! Then vs Now

2025 will be ten years of Christmas Cards! Isn’t that nuts? I’m going to have to do something super special for next years card! Something that started out as a fun little spur of the moment idea has turned into such a special tradition. I saw a post the other day that said “you decided to do it scared than not do it at all” and that’s basically what has summed up my art journey this far!
Before thinking of your goals for 2025 make sure to take time to reflect on on what you accomplished this year, I bet you will be delightfully surprised!
